Obituary for James Franklin Moore

James Franklin Moore
Mr. James Franklin Moore, resident of Trumann, Arkansas, formerly of Wynne, departed this life on Friday, August 18, 2023, in the comfort of his home at the age of 76. James was born in Fair Oaks, Arkansas on September 30, 1946, the son of George Franklin and Almetta (Wymer) Moore.

James enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 and was proud to serve his country. Upon his return home to Wynne, he started Moore Bros. Construction Company with his brother, Gail, and father, Frank. James worked the entirety of his life in land development and construction. In 1982, James met and married the love of his life, Ethel Toddy of Trumann. They cherished and cared for each other for 40 years, joining their families and making a lifetime of lasting memories. Family was the most important thing to James. He was always there for any family member that needed him. His life really flourished after his grandchildren were born, and he devoted much of his energy and time to them. James was of the Baptist faith, and he was a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Fran Moore; and two grandchildren, Joshua Robison and Stephanie Moore-Turner.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Moore of the home; two sons, Jimmy Moore and wife, Heather, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Steve Moore of Searcy; a daughter, Karen Robison and husband, Lynn, of Trumann; a special daughter-in-law, Donna Keeling of Colt; two brothers, Gail Moore and wife, Shirley, of Wynne, and Jackie Moore and wife, Donna, of Pumpkin Bend; a sister, Ina Moore-Meredith and husband, Allen, of Morton; four grandchildren, Aaron, Hanna, Brittany, and Sidney; nine great-grandchildren, Ryker, Haven, Londyn, Tytan, Olivia, Riley, Winnie, Indy, and “Palpaw’s” buddy, Will; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Mr. Allen Meredith officiating. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are David Fisher, Chad Moore, Don Moore, Jeremy Moore, Aaron Robison, Ryker Robison, J.R. Thomas, and Larry Thomas. Honorary pallbearer is Jason Moore.
