Obituary for Wanda Sue (Westmoreland) Dennis

Mrs. Wanda Sue (Westmoreland) Dennis, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved family at the age of 77. Wanda was born in Wynne on October 3, 1946, the daughter of Ewell “Bo” and Dorothy (Cothran) Westmoreland.

Wanda was a 1964 graduate of West Memphis High School, and she married James “Marcus” Dennis in 1975. The couple was blessed with 32 years together prior to Mr. Dennis’s passing in 2007. Wanda retired from Coastal Unilube in West Memphis following more than 20 years of dedicated service as a Distribution Manager, and she was of the Christian faith. Wanda enjoyed fishing, especially for Bream, and reading a multitude of books, but her favorite was forever her Bible. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was keen on caring for animals. Her pets and constant companions, Deke and Rip, continually held a special place in her heart. She strived to maintain her appearance as that of a classful lady, and loved collecting shoes. In recent years, Wanda appreciated keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. She will forever be remembered as a “Mamaw” to all.

Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Dennis; parents, Bo and Dorothy Westmoreland; a brother, Harold Westmoreland; and a niece, Laura Shelton.

She is survived by a son, Richard Dennis and wife, Dana, of Wynne; a brother, Bobby Westmoreland of Little Rock; a sister, Donna Westmoreland of Wynne; three grandchildren, Lynzi Wiggins and husband, Dillon, of Colt, Montana Lovell and husband, Lathan, of Wynne, and Danielle Scott and husband, Corey, of Vanndale; five great-grandchildren, Bryson and Holden Wiggins, Levi Lovell, and Cooper and Dailee Scott; five nieces, Andrea Westmoreland and husband, Matt, Marti Shelton, Sara Shelton, Michelle Westmoreland, and Marsha Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Bro. Tracy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Loughridge Cemetery near Colt.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Barry Davis, Reed Dennis, Jimmy Evans, Robert Langston, William “Dub” Smith, Bud Spears, Hayden Spears, and Troy Williams.

Memorial donations may be made to Wynne Animal Control, 206 S. Falls Blvd., Wynne, AR 72396.
